Orlando, FL (October 1, 2021)- It has been one week since the disappearance of Miya Marcano, and the family is absolutely devastated. The parents of Miya have been working tirelessly day and night searching for their 19-year-old college student who lived and worked at the Arden Villas, an apartment complex utilized for student housing. At this time, police are working diligently around the clock to locate Miya and have been joined in its search by the FBI to assist with the ongoing investigation.

National civil rights and personal injury attorney Daryl K. Washington who is the attorney for the family will address the media on a future date but in the meantime asks the public to respect the family's privacy during this difficult time. Miya's family and Attorney Washington believe more safeguards should have been in place to prevent the unauthorized entry into Miya's apartment which led to her disappearance.

Official Statement from Family

“The family would like to thank everyone for the support, quick response, love and most of all, prayers. Miya is literally a shining light to everyone she meets. As you can imagine, we are unable to respond back to each of you, but I can assure you that we hear, see, and appreciate the outpouring of love. Our focus right now is the safe return of Miya, and we ask that if anyone has any information, please come forward. Again, we sincerely appreciate your support and willingness to help bring Miya back home safely.”

There is currently a reward being offered of up to $15,000 for information that leads to the whereabouts of Miya. If anyone has any information, please contact Crime Line at 800. 423.TIPS (8477).
